Performance - Maximum Efficiency & Strength

Though your windows and patio doors offer a glimpse outside, they shouldn't bring the outside in. These days, special glass and frame construction types offer durability and energy-efficiency to protect your home from the elements and from energy loss no matter what's happening outside. Learn how the glass and frame types work together for optimal performance.

  Thermal Performance
Most Clearview windows and patio doors meet stringent performance standards for energy efficiency, air and water infiltration, and structural performance. Through any climate changes, your windows and patio doors endure, your glass conserves energy and remains intact.

  High-performance Glass
All windows and patio doors come equipped with standard insulating glass. You may also choose a Low E glass, which combines two panes with an interior low emissivity coating which improves thermal efficiency over 40% and filters over 80% of harmful ultraviolet rays. Additional combinations of coated or tinted glass are available to achieve whatever thermal efficiency or heat gain retardency performance your project requires.

  Overall Window Performance
To determine their quality and energy efficiency, windows and patio doors receive certification in accordance with several highly respected organizations:

National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC)
This non-profit organization has an energy rating system for accurately assessing various window and door products for U-factor (thermal transmittance), solar heat gain, and total product thermal performance.

Energy Star®
Many of our windows and patio doors are rated Energy Star qualified, a standard created by the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to help identify energy-efficient products, meaning they screen out heat gain when it's warm and minimize heat loss when it's cold.

Window and Door Manufacturers Association
This association has also developed standards rating window and door performance for:

  • air and water infiltration
  • sound transmission resistance
  • structural strength (wind load)
  • pressure on the exterior surface

All of our manufacturers offer products designed to meet or exceed the design performance criteria you may require.
